Journailism is current events that are newsworthy events that are shown via TV, radio, magazines, newspapers, and the internet.
List and describe the six criteria of newsworthiness.
1. Significance: Important events that impact people: Haiti, Vikings, 9/11 etc.
2. Timeliness: Events that are happening now: weather NOW, sports NOW, etc.
3. Unusualness/Unordinary: Events that are unique and unusual: Fires, murders etc.
4. Proximity: News thats close to us/don't care about about news in London: weather and sports in MN or close to us etc.
5. Prominence: important people: celebrity getting a dog compared to me getting a dog etc.
6. Human Interest: feel good story that sheds some light on you and touches you emotionally: Panda's being born, Keri'd wedding etc.
What are the advantages of print journalism?
1. You have control over what you read and when. You don't have to wait for the story to become available on TV.

1. Element of video and sound. You can read about Haiti disaster, but seeing devistation in Haiti is a different level and more senses available.
